Why Am I Posting This List?
These links are being posted so I can keep them part of a content network where I describe the types of links that are being blasted at my site by scammers. After being pointed at my site for negative SEO, I have formally disavowed them.
Negative SEO is the malicious use of SEO tactics to harm a competitor's website ranking.
The most common tactic is link spamming, where the attacker builds a large number of low-quality, spammy links pointing to your site.
Scammers and ransoms
Some scammers use negative SEO as a blackmailing tool. They will:
Launch a negative SEO attack against a target website.
Send an email or message to the website owner, claiming to be behind the attack.
Demand a ransom payment, often in cryptocurrency, to stop the attack or "fix" the problem they created.
These scammers are essentially threatening to ruin your site's reputation and rankings unless you pay them. While these are often empty threats, the attack itself can be real and damaging, forcing a site owner to deal with the fallout.
These are the types of links that are particularly prolific at the moment
